The Bennelong Foundation aims to enhance community wellbeing and provide opportunities for positive and lasting change in our community.
The Bennelong Foundation holds an annual run around the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne called the "Tan Track Challenge". For the years 2024 and 2023, I designed and organised the production of the t-shirts, with 2024 a significant year for the event as the Bennelong Foundation revealed their newest clocks for the Tan Track.

Tan Track (2024)
Following the rebranding of the Bennelong Foundation, it was a requirement for the design to include elements from the updated branding. Using the step shape with the colourful gradient as the main motif for the design plus taking inspiration from the new clock face to indicate the year of the challenge.
Challenges: The deadline for designing the 2023 & 2024 t-shirts was tight since the period was between Christmas and the end of January. Finding a supplier that could work within the timeframes was difficult, as suppliers were either out of our budget or had long turnaround times.
Learnings: Building a network of suppliers has helped me understand their capabilities and my prior experience manufacturing apparel eased the process of producing the shirts. Constant communication with suppliers and preparing designs so that they were print-ready was essential. This minimised any amendments and reviews to the designs.
Tan Track (2023)
For the tees in 2023, I had creative freedom. Considering the past designs which focused on simple and generic marathon-style designs, my mission was to make this stand out. With an illustrative background, I decided to create a hand-drawn design that highlighted iconic plants, places and structures that are prominent within the Botanical Gardens.
